Reading and dream casting The Seasons of Beento Blackbird

I am not an avid reader.  At all.  This summer, I am reading "The Seasons of Beento Blackbird".  So far I love it!!!  The book is written by Akosua Busia.  I remember her best from the movie "The Color Purple".  I love how this book is written.  I can actually see and smell and feel the breezes and scenery.  I'm only in the first couple of chapters in the book, but I think I would cast Gabrielle Union as Samantha.  I just visualize that part as her.  And Idris Elba or Djimon Hounsou as Solomon.  I am still visualizing and casting this book in my mind.  Has anyone else read this book?? It's excellent!
